Street Art in CDMX
"I've never believed in God. But I believe in Picasso."
- Diego Rivera
Mexico City is full of street art! The fascination with muralism started in Mexico in the 1920s, as part of an effort to unify the country and its people after the Mexican Revolution. The so-called "big three": Diego Rivera, Jose Clemente Orozco and David Alfaro Siqueiros headed the movement, adorning public buildings with social and political messages. You can read more about Mexican muralism here.
Below are some examples of contemporary murals and other street art I found while walking around Mexico City. If you like my posts, please give my blog a follow!
